Auto Saving

It would be good to have auto save of files as the cloud can be fragile (or rather PCs and inter next connections can be). However that would have to play nice with the version control and collaboration. Perhaps auto saves don't count as updates unless disconnect or timeout?

Your changes automatically save every few seconds as a draft. If you close the document without saving, the next time you open the document it will prompt you to keep or discard those changes. If you were working on a brand-new document, then the next time you create a new document, your auto-saved document will appear as an option alongside the option for a blank flowchart, blank org-chart, etc.

Of course, auto-saving doesn't work if you've been working without an internet connection for the whole time.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Ben that is ideal. It's just missing some indication. The new scheme Google have rolled out for Apps is OK IMHO (save button says last saved time).

One related topic I'm unsure of is when a version is created. On my last session I save regularly and then expected to see loads of versions. However there were only a limited number - which is actually the behaviour I prefer. However I'd like to know when a version is created or be able to force one.

Have I overlooked some documentation that explains these sort of things?

Steve
