Add Diagrams into Slack
Share Lucidchart diagrams directly into any Slack channel using a simple /lucidchart command.
Get a free Lucidchart account. All it takes is an email.
In order to start using the Slack integration for Lucidchart, first log-in to your Lucidchart account.
Open the document that you’d like to share via Slack and then click the Share option in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
From here, just enter the name of the person you want to share the document with. Note, you’ll want to make sure you select the name with the Slack logo, otherwise, they’ll receive an email notification instead.
Your collaborator will then get a message from the Slackbot, notifying them of the shared chart. One other useful way Lucidchart integrates with Slack is that you can also start a new diagram in a channel so that anyone in that channel has access to and can edit or update the document.
To do this, just open the channel you want to create the document in, then type /lucidchart space, then whatever you’d like to name the new document. We’ll call this, New Hire Decision Tree.
Then, click the link to open the chart.
From here you can create or modify the new shared chart you just created from Slack. Your changes are automatically saved but if you would like to post your update to the Slack channel, just click Post to Slack in the top left-hand corner of the screen and a new slack notification with the updated changes will be sent to the channel and anyone can click on the link to be taken right back into the updated document.
You can visit the Lucidchart Help Center on our Slack integration if you need additional assistance.
