iPad Flowchart App
Looking for a free and easy flowchart app? With Lucidchart's iPad application, you can create stunning flowcharts, wireframes, mockups, UML diagrams, ER diagrams, and much more!
Lucidchart and the iPad go hand-in-hand. Both are sleek, fun, and intuitive—you'll be diagramming in no time with the simple touch interface. Visit the App Store listing to install. You can also visit Lucidchart through the browser on your iPad, but the experience won't be optimized for your device.
Lucidchart's iPad flowchart application is fast and reliable. You've always been able to open and create docs through lucidchart.com, but this app makes diagramming even more convenient.
Ease of use
Just like the iPad, there's a minimal learning curve with Lucidchart. For instructions on how to drag, draw, and modify elements—or for help with anything else—simply click on the question mark icon.
As with our desktop application, real-time collaboration is a breeze. Invite an unlimited number of users to view or edit your iPad diagrams. Changes will sync instantly.
Hundreds of shapes
Browse the template collection or start from scratch. Either way, you can choose from hundreds of shapes, including flowchart, BPMN, UML, entity relationship, Venn diagram, and many others.
Touch draw & shape recognition
Lucidchart's iPad app comes equipped with a sophisticated system to recognize basic flowchart shapes drawn by hand. Enter freehand draw mode by pressing anywhere on the canvas.
With freehand draw mode, users can create a variety of shapes, including:
- Square & rectangle
- Circle & oval
- Swim lane & actor
Hundreds of other shapes are available with the standard drag-and-drop interface.
Users can access the context panel by pressing the gear icon in the editor. The context panel is your guide to the Lucidchart app—it will show you exactly how to add shapes, rotate, zoom and pan, and perform other critical tasks. The gear icon also pulls up a handy map of the Lucidchart for iPad interface.
Frequently asked questions
Does the app have every shape library that lucidchart.com offers?
The iPad app contains the vast majority of our standard shape libraries. The exceptions are org charts, mind maps, and floor plans. Other features that are currently disabled on the iPad app are image upload, export to various file types (PDF, PNG, JPEG, and VDX), real-time chat, and commenting.
Can I use my current Lucidchart account with the app?
Yes! The iPad app can be used as a standalone product or in conjunction with your current Lucidchart account. An account created from the iPad can also be used at lucidchart.com, but some features free on the iPad will require payment if accessed from outside the app. Please keep in mind that both the desktop application and the iPad app must be connected to the Internet during use.
Is real-time collaboration still offered?
Absolutely. Users can invite collaborators to view or edit their diagrams. Edits are synced instantaneously, so you're always working on the latest version.
How do I invite collaborators to my document?
Simply click the gear icon to access the context panel, then select "Share". All of the options that appear on the right side of the browser editor are accessible through the gear icon.
Is Lucidchart available on Android tablets?
Not yet, but we're working on it!
Will this work on my phone?
Lucidchart is not yet available in app format for phones, but you can still access your documents via the browser (we recommend Chrome).
